Clients
Client Portal, E-Signature and Document Folders
Built for UK accountants, bookkeepers and growing accountancy practices.
How it works
Clients expect to share records and sign documents online, and practices need those files filed in the right place. In the client profile, Client Portal Management lists each portal user with name, email address, linked clients and status, such as Not Invited. Invite a contact with the send action, or use Create Client User Manually. Linked Clients controls which client records each portal user can access. That is useful when one person is director of a company and also a Self Assessment client, because one login can be granted access to both. The E-Signature section holds Client Portal Documents. Use Upload Document to add engagement letters, accounts or tax returns for the client to review and sign through the portal. In Documents, every client has its own folder, created with sub-folders for each service, such as Personal Tax Return - SATR and VAT. The folder list shows size, date added, modified date, creator and a Client visibility setting, so you decide what the client can see. You can add new folders, upload files, switch between list and grid views, and keep track of storage used.
Portal users

- Create Client User Manually and Search portal users by name or email.
- Columns: Name, Email Address, Linked Clients, Status, Actions.

- Columns: Name, Size, Date Added, Modified, Creator, Client (with a Visible badge).

Why a single client record matters
When client details, deadlines, documents and conversations are spread across inboxes and spreadsheets, time goes on searching instead of on client work.
One version of the truth
Everyone sees the same services, contacts, deadlines and notes for each client.
Accurate deadlines
Companies House sync brings in company details and filing dates, reducing manual errors.
Better client service
A full timeline means anyone can answer a client question with the history in front of them.
Secure document sharing
A client portal is safer than sending financial documents as email attachments.
Practical tips from UK practice
- Import companies from Companies House rather than typing details by hand.
- Record every service a client takes, so recurring work is created automatically.
- Add a short note after every important client call.
- Ask clients to upload documents through the portal rather than by email.
