How it works
The Articles library is the working view of your firm's knowledge base. Every SOP, policy and technical guide appears as a card showing its category, visibility, a short summary and tags, so a team member can judge relevance before opening it. Status tabs show how many articles are in Draft, In Review and Published, which gives a practice manager a quick picture of what still needs approval. Visibility tabs let you see only Internal content, only External content, or articles shared both ways.
Search sits at the top of the page, so staff can type "VAT", "onboarding" or "s455" and go straight to the right procedure. That matters in a busy period: when a VAT quarter or the January Self Assessment deadline is close, nobody wants to hunt through folders for the firm's agreed approach.
Each card also shows read time, views, likes and a star rating. Together they give you a simple feedback loop for staff training. A high-traffic SOP with a low rating is one to rewrite; a policy with no views may need pointing out at the next team meeting. Updated dates show when each article was last revised, which supports annual policy reviews and quality control. For practices that train junior staff or offshore teams, a well-kept articles library becomes the reference point for "how we do things here", reducing supervision time and cost per hour.

Why recording every task matters in an accountancy practice
Accounting firms run on deadlines: VAT returns, payroll, confirmation statements, accounts and Self Assessment. Recording every job as a task, with an owner and a date, is the simplest way to make sure nothing is missed.
Avoid penalties
HMRC and Companies House charge penalties for late filing. A task for every deadline, with an internal date before it, gives the team a buffer.
Nothing depends on memory
Recorded tasks mean work continues when someone is off sick, on leave or has left the firm.
Consistent quality
Subtask checklists make every job follow the same steps and reviews, whoever does the work.
Visibility for managers
Filters by owner, status and deadline show at a glance what is late, what is due and who needs help.
Practical tips from UK practice
- Set an internal deadline two to four weeks before every statutory deadline.
- Use recurring tasks for repeat work such as VAT, payroll and bookkeeping.
- Break larger jobs into subtasks, including a review step.
- Comment on the task instead of by email, so the history stays with the work.
