Review Workflow and Visibility
New SOPs can wait In Review until a manager approves them; filter by status or by Internal, External and Both.
Built for UK accountants, bookkeepers and growing accountancy practices.
How it works
A procedures manual is only as reliable as its review process. Remindoo gives every knowledge base article a status of Draft, In Review or Published. Authors can save work in progress as a draft, submit a finished SOP for review, and a manager or partner can check it before it becomes the firm's agreed method. Selecting the In Review tab lists exactly what is waiting, so nothing sits unapproved for weeks.
This simple approval step supports quality control and the documented procedures that professional bodies and AML supervisors expect firms to maintain. When a regulation changes, such as a new deadline or threshold, the updated SOP can go back through review before staff rely on it.
Visibility works alongside status. Internal articles are for your team only; External articles are suitable for clients; Both covers guides that work for either audience, such as a plain-English explanation of VAT deadlines. Filtering by visibility helps you check that internal methodology is not exposed and that client-facing content is ready to share. Combined with read counts, likes and ratings, this gives owners a clear view of what is approved, who can see it and whether staff are using it.

Why recording every task matters in an accountancy practice
Accounting firms run on deadlines: VAT returns, payroll, confirmation statements, accounts and Self Assessment. Recording every job as a task, with an owner and a date, is the simplest way to make sure nothing is missed.
Avoid penalties
HMRC and Companies House charge penalties for late filing. A task for every deadline, with an internal date before it, gives the team a buffer.
Nothing depends on memory
Recorded tasks mean work continues when someone is off sick, on leave or has left the firm.
Consistent quality
Subtask checklists make every job follow the same steps and reviews, whoever does the work.
Visibility for managers
Filters by owner, status and deadline show at a glance what is late, what is due and who needs help.
Practical tips from UK practice
- Set an internal deadline two to four weeks before every statutory deadline.
- Use recurring tasks for repeat work such as VAT, payroll and bookkeeping.
- Break larger jobs into subtasks, including a review step.
- Comment on the task instead of by email, so the history stays with the work.
