Write SOPs and Articles
Title, summary and rich-text content with headings and lists; settings for categories, tags, status and visibility; upload attachments and add links.
Built for UK accountants, bookkeepers and growing accountancy practices.
How it works
Writing an SOP in Remindoo takes minutes, not a project. The editor has required Title, Summary and Content fields, with a rich-text toolbar for paragraphs, H1–H3 headings, bold, italic, underline, alignment and lists. Using one consistent structure (before you start, preparation, review and sign-off) makes every procedure in your firm look and read the same, which speeds up training and makes gaps easier to spot.
Article Settings sit on the right. Choose one or more Categories, add Tags, set the Status and pick the Visibility. A new procedure can be saved In Review and Internal, so it stays private until a manager approves it. Upload Attachment and Add Link let you keep templates, guidance PDFs and video walkthroughs with the procedure.
The sample Year-End Accounts Review SOP shows how this supports quality control and AML compliance. It starts by confirming the engagement letter and AML check are in place and Companies House details and the accounting reference date are checked. Preparation covers control account reconciliations (bank, VAT, payroll), fixed asset additions, accruals, prepayments and the director's loan account (s455), followed by a review and sign-off stage. Writing these steps down means every set of accounts goes through the same checks, whoever prepares it.

A new SOP in minutes
Example: a Year-End Accounts Review SOP covering engagement and AML checks, control account reconciliations, fixed assets, director's loan account (s455) and preparer/reviewer/approver sign-off.
What you can see
- Title *Year-End Accounts Review SOP* with a summary covering year-end accounts and CT600
- Categories set to Employee; Tags set to Corporation Tax
- Status set to In Review; Visibility set to Internal
- *Before you start*: engagement letter and AML check, Companies House details and accounting reference date
- *Preparation*: control account reconciliations, fixed asset additions, accruals, prepayments, director's loan account (s455)

Why it matters: A new SOP can be drafted and held for review internally, so staff only follow procedures that have been approved.

Why recording every task matters in an accountancy practice
Accounting firms run on deadlines: VAT returns, payroll, confirmation statements, accounts and Self Assessment. Recording every job as a task, with an owner and a date, is the simplest way to make sure nothing is missed.
Avoid penalties
HMRC and Companies House charge penalties for late filing. A task for every deadline, with an internal date before it, gives the team a buffer.
Nothing depends on memory
Recorded tasks mean work continues when someone is off sick, on leave or has left the firm.
Consistent quality
Subtask checklists make every job follow the same steps and reviews, whoever does the work.
Visibility for managers
Filters by owner, status and deadline show at a glance what is late, what is due and who needs help.
Practical tips from UK practice
- Set an internal deadline two to four weeks before every statutory deadline.
- Use recurring tasks for repeat work such as VAT, payroll and bookkeeping.
- Break larger jobs into subtasks, including a review step.
- Comment on the task instead of by email, so the history stays with the work.
