Tasks
The Task Workspace
Open a task to work it. The header shows the deadline countdown (e.g. Deadline in 20 days), total time, internal and external deadlines and assignees, with tabs for Subtasks, Comments, Checklist, Timeline and Email Logs.
Built for UK accountants, bookkeepers and growing accountancy practices.
How it works
The task workspace is where the work gets done. Opening a job such as Year-end accounts prep FY26 shows a header with a deadline countdown (Deadline in 20 days), the total time logged, the Internal Deadline and External Deadline, and the assignees. Tabs for Subtasks, Comments, Checklist, Timeline and Email Logs keep everything about the job in one place, and header icons give quick access to AI analysis, email and task information. Each phase of the job is a subtask card. Phase 1 Chasing Information shows its status, a timer, practice instructions such as "Ensure all calls are recorded" and a note about informing clients of an additional £150.00 charge if 28 calendar days are not allowed, plus a progress bar and assignees. Click Ready To Start, and the card opens as a working view: Start Timer, tick off each checklist item and click Update Changes. The subtask moves to In-Progress, its progress bar updates to 50% completed and the time logged appears on the card and in the header. Breaking year end accounts into phases with their own instructions and timers makes it clear where each job is stuck and how long each stage really takes.

Frequently asked questions
What is task management software for accountants?
Software that turns each client service into a job with owners, deadlines, subtasks and time tracking, so the practice can see what is due, who is doing it and what is at risk. In Remindoo this is the Tasks module.
Does each subtask have its own timer?
Yes. Every subtask card has a timer, and the task header shows the total time logged.
How is subtask progress calculated?
Progress updates as you tick checklist items and click Update Changes; for example, one of two items ticked shows 50% completed.

Why recording every task matters in an accountancy practice
Accounting firms run on deadlines: VAT returns, payroll, confirmation statements, accounts and Self Assessment. Recording every job as a task, with an owner and a date, is the simplest way to make sure nothing is missed.
Avoid penalties
HMRC and Companies House charge penalties for late filing. A task for every deadline, with an internal date before it, gives the team a buffer.
Nothing depends on memory
Recorded tasks mean work continues when someone is off sick, on leave or has left the firm.
Consistent quality
Subtask checklists make every job follow the same steps and reviews, whoever does the work.
Visibility for managers
Filters by owner, status and deadline show at a glance what is late, what is due and who needs help.
Practical tips from UK practice
- Set an internal deadline two to four weeks before every statutory deadline.
- Use recurring tasks for repeat work such as VAT, payroll and bookkeeping.
- Break larger jobs into subtasks, including a review step.
- Comment on the task instead of by email, so the history stays with the work.
