Built for UK accountants, bookkeepers and growing accountancy practices.

How it works

Quality control is central to a regulated practice. Before year end accounts and a CT600 go to the client, someone must confirm that the data is right, the dates are consistent and the figures match what has already been filed. Remindoo puts that review checklist inside the task, under the Checklist tab. Each point is written as a clear instruction: verify that information has been accurately sourced from Companies House or Credit Safe, including the registered office address, directors and shareholders; ensure dates have been checked across all tabs, accounting periods, CT600 forms, VT files and the final PDF; cross-reference the most recent Companies House filed accounts with the software records and the working papers; and document observations in the Observation Tab. Against each point, set the status to Preparer, Reviewer or Approver to record who has signed it off, or leave it Empty. A comment icon on every point lets you add a note, and the "Checklist filter by" dropdown shows points by status. This creates a three-stage sign-off trail on every job, supports file reviews and makes it obvious which checks are still outstanding before accounts are released.

Checks such as verifying Companies House data, checking dates across CT600 and the final PDF, and cross-referencing filed accounts. Mark each as Preparer, Reviewer or Approver, add a note, and filter the list by status.

What you can see

  • Checklist tab: "Please complete the checklist for this task below to complete this task."
  • Subject and Status columns.
  • Checks on Companies House or Credit Safe data, CT600 and final PDF dates, and filed accounts.
  • Status options: Empty, Preparer, Reviewer and Approver.
  • Comment icon on each checklist point for notes.

Why it matters: Every review point has a recorded sign-off, which supports quality control and file reviews.

Why recording every task matters in an accountancy practice

Accounting firms run on deadlines: VAT returns, payroll, confirmation statements, accounts and Self Assessment. Recording every job as a task, with an owner and a date, is the simplest way to make sure nothing is missed.

Avoid penalties

HMRC and Companies House charge penalties for late filing. A task for every deadline, with an internal date before it, gives the team a buffer.

Nothing depends on memory

Recorded tasks mean work continues when someone is off sick, on leave or has left the firm.

Consistent quality

Subtask checklists make every job follow the same steps and reviews, whoever does the work.

Visibility for managers

Filters by owner, status and deadline show at a glance what is late, what is due and who needs help.

Practical tips from UK practice

  • Set an internal deadline two to four weeks before every statutory deadline.
  • Use recurring tasks for repeat work such as VAT, payroll and bookkeeping.
  • Break larger jobs into subtasks, including a review step.
  • Comment on the task instead of by email, so the history stays with the work.
