In short: A Companies House registration that lets a supervised firm verify identities and file on behalf of clients.
Under the Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act, Companies House introduced identity verification and a register of Authorised Corporate Service Providers. An ACSP is an AML-supervised business registered with Companies House to carry out identity verification for others.
Accountancy firms that form companies or file for clients generally need to register as an ACSP to keep doing that work, and must keep records of the verification they perform.
Without ACSP registration, routine company secretarial work for clients becomes considerably harder.
