Tasks
AI Task Analysis
Built for UK accountants, bookkeepers and growing accountancy practices.
How it works
Partners and managers cannot read every comment on every job, yet that is often where the early warning sits. AI Task Analysis reads a task and gives a structured assessment in one click, from the task's quick view or workspace. The Summary explains in plain English what the job is (for example preparing year end accounts and CT600 for FY26 for Kestrel Logistics Ltd), the state of the internal and client deadlines and the current progress. Deadline Analysis gives a Risk Level, such as MEDIUM, a deadline status (Deadline is on track) and the Risk Reasons: a slow start, outstanding critical documents and pending dependencies. Blockers lists what is holding the job up, here fixed asset invoices owed by the client. Time Estimation gives a view on whether the plan is on track. Further down, Recommendations sets out numbered next steps, Comment Analysis interprets what the comments say, and Dependency Risks highlights reliance on the client to provide documents. For a practice juggling CT600 and Self Assessment deadlines, this flags jobs that look safe on dates but are quietly falling behind, so you can act weeks before a statutory deadline.
Summary, risk and blockers
A plain-English summary, progress, deadline analysis with a risk level (e.g. Medium) and reasons, blockers such as outstanding fixed asset invoices, and a time estimate.
What you can see
- Summary panel with a progress indicator.
- Summary of the job, deadlines and progress for Kestrel Logistics Ltd.
- Deadline Analysis with Risk Level: MEDIUM and "Deadline is on track".
- Risk Reasons, such as a slow start and outstanding documents.
- Blockers (fixed asset invoices owed by the client) and Time Estimation.
Why it matters: Hidden risk shows up even when the deadline dates still look safe.
Recommendations and dependencies
Numbered next steps, an analysis of the comments, and dependency risks such as waiting on the client.
What you can see
- Recommendations: numbered next steps, such as following up for fixed asset invoices.
- Advice to review received bank statements and begin reconciling.
- Advice to agree a clear timeline with the client for outstanding documents.
- Comment Analysis summarising what the comments reveal.
- Dependency Risks: dependence on the client to provide documents.
Why it matters: The analysis ends with clear actions, so the team knows what to do next.

Why recording every task matters in an accountancy practice
Accounting firms run on deadlines: VAT returns, payroll, confirmation statements, accounts and Self Assessment. Recording every job as a task, with an owner and a date, is the simplest way to make sure nothing is missed.
Avoid penalties
HMRC and Companies House charge penalties for late filing. A task for every deadline, with an internal date before it, gives the team a buffer.
Nothing depends on memory
Recorded tasks mean work continues when someone is off sick, on leave or has left the firm.
Consistent quality
Subtask checklists make every job follow the same steps and reviews, whoever does the work.
Visibility for managers
Filters by owner, status and deadline show at a glance what is late, what is due and who needs help.
Practical tips from UK practice
- Set an internal deadline two to four weeks before every statutory deadline.
- Use recurring tasks for repeat work such as VAT, payroll and bookkeeping.
- Break larger jobs into subtasks, including a review step.
- Comment on the task instead of by email, so the history stays with the work.
