Tasks
Snooze Tasks Until You Can Progress Them
Work often stalls for reasons outside your control, such as waiting for bank statements from a client. Snoozing a task moves it out of the way until the date you choose, without losing sight of it.
Built for UK accountants, bookkeepers and growing accountancy practices.
How to do it in Remindoo
- Select the relevant tasks.
- Open Snooze.
- Choose the date.
- Review the Snooze tab.

How it works
Some jobs cannot move until something outside your control happens. The client has not sent bank statements, the year end has not arrived yet, or HMRC needs to respond. Leaving these tasks in the active list clutters everyone's view and distracts from work that can be done today. Snooze hides selected tasks from the active tabs until a date you choose. Select one or more tasks, click the snooze icon on the bulk bar and pick the un-snooze date; the dialog confirms how many tasks you are snoozing. Snoozed work sits in the Snooze tab of the task list rather than disappearing, so nothing is lost. Snooze is also available on a single task from the quick view. For a UK practice, this keeps the In-Progress and Not started tabs focused on jobs the team can act on, which makes daily planning and capacity reviews more honest, while parked work waits until the date you set. Pair snooze with internal deadlines and progress statuses such as Info Requested, so the reason a job is on hold is always clear to the whole team.

What you can see
- Snooze icon highlighted on the bulk action bar.
- "Snooze 2 tasks" dialog.
- Explanation that the selected tasks are snoozed until a chosen date.
- "Choose the date to un-snooze" date field.
- Snooze and Cancel buttons.
Why it matters: Jobs that cannot progress yet stay out of the way without being forgotten.
Snooze one task or many
- Snooze an individual task to a chosen date
- Snooze several tasks at once with bulk snooze
- Keep your current list focused on work you can act on
Snoozing doesn't change deadlines
A snoozed task keeps its deadlines, so filters and reports still show work that's close to its due date.
Example: waiting for records
- A sole trader promises their records next Friday.
- The bookkeeper snoozes the Self Assessment task to Friday.
- On Friday the task is back in their list, ready to start.
Illustrative example, adapt it to your own practice's process.

Why recording every task matters in an accountancy practice
Accounting firms run on deadlines: VAT returns, payroll, confirmation statements, accounts and Self Assessment. Recording every job as a task, with an owner and a date, is the simplest way to make sure nothing is missed.
Avoid penalties
HMRC and Companies House charge penalties for late filing. A task for every deadline, with an internal date before it, gives the team a buffer.
Nothing depends on memory
Recorded tasks mean work continues when someone is off sick, on leave or has left the firm.
Consistent quality
Subtask checklists make every job follow the same steps and reviews, whoever does the work.
Visibility for managers
Filters by owner, status and deadline show at a glance what is late, what is due and who needs help.
Practical tips from UK practice
- Set an internal deadline two to four weeks before every statutory deadline.
- Use recurring tasks for repeat work such as VAT, payroll and bookkeeping.
- Break larger jobs into subtasks, including a review step.
- Comment on the task instead of by email, so the history stays with the work.
